Nominated for funding by R&D project under Ministry of Science and Technology in the fiscal year 2018-19.

The main aim of this study is

1.    Isolation and identification of Gram negative (e.g., Pseudomonas spp., E. coli) and Gram positive (e.g., Staphylococcus aureus) bacteria from mobile phones of hospital personnel.

2.    Evaluation of the total bacterial count present in the mobile phones.

3.    Determination of their multidrug resistance pattern.

4.  Screening for biofilm forming (able to adhere) species from the isolated bacteria.
